* I am driving to Mindful Bakes session, is there parking locally?

Collingbourne Kingston Village hall-Yes, a large carpark

Collingbourne Ducis-This can be a little tricky! Please DO NOT park in front of the property in the front car park, you will be asked to move. Instead, park along the pavement adjacent to the building, on the far or by the church and walk round

Potterne, Devizes-Yes, a large gravel driveway

* What time should I arrive for my session?

Arrive five minutes before your session is due to start to get settled. Please collect your children promptly as we have very little time between sessions for clean up

* Will my session finish exactly on time?

Yes, we endeavour to finish on time as we have very little time between sessions to clear away and prepare for our next session

*Can parents stay with their children and join in or can I leave my child (ren)?

We encourage parents to stay in fact! You can learn new skills together and bond with your child. Equally, we are more than happy if you wish to leave your child with us and have some time to relax and unwind. Additionally, if you’re child is shy then you are welcome to stay with a cup of coffee and slice of cake and leave when they are more settled

*I was given a Mindful Bakes session as a gift but I’m unable to make any if the date booked, Can I transfer it onto another date in the future?

* Do you cater for all food intolerances?

Yes, all food tolerances are catered for. Please make us aware at the time of booking. We will let you know if we are cooking with wheat, dairy, nuts, Asian, spice or raw ingredients.

* I am vegetarian, do you offer vegetarian dishes?

Yes, as above

*Will I be offered drinks and snacks or a meal during my session?

Unlimited soft drinks are available every session. Lunch club includes a hit meal and afternoon tea includes tea! Mindful Bakes meets Mindful Arts also includes a hot lunch. You can also place orders for any cake commissions you may fancy, do give us plenty of advance notice.

*I am feeling unwell and unable to make my session. Will I be able to transfer my booking to another date or receive a full refund?

* Can I just turn up to a session and pay on the day?

Please try and book at least 24 hours in advance. We need time to book our venues and prepare all our ingredients

*What payment options do you offer?

PayPal via http://www.paypal.me/mindfulbakes or BACS details available upon request

*Can I book more sessions last minute or change my booking?

Contact us as soon as you can but we can only offer refunds if you give us at least 12 hours notice

* I am coming to one of your sessions. What do I need to bring?

Yourselves. Aprons, soap, soft drinks and entertainment provided!

*Do you cater for special needs?

yes, all our venues are wheelchair friendly. In fact Laura has 15 years experience working with special needs children and young adults. She has worked in a variety of settings; primary schools, secondary schools, respite units, outreach and 1:1 private carer. Laura’s occupational therapy experience has influenced the therapeutic nature of Mindful bakes and is why Laura is so keen to encourage children to enjoy the sensory benefits of baking not to mention the use of fine and gross motor skills and manual dexterity.

* What skills and experience do I need to attend a session?

None, just bring yourselves! Each session is tailored to the individual needs of each child and we try to match ages and abilities as well as considering any special needs or food intolerances

*Can I bring a friend?

Of course, so long as they have booked!

* What qualifications and experience do you have?

Laura is educated to degree level and has a wealth of experience in working with children in both mainstream and special needs schools.

*What else does Mindful Bakes offer?

We offer cake commissions and bakes, children’s parties and event catering.

*What does each session include?

At the start of each session Laura will give each child a paper chef’s hat to take home, a recipe card detailing what we are going to cook during the session, use of an apron should they wish to keep their clothes tidy, a brief chat about health and safety and housekeeping and to encourage children to help themselves to drinks throughout the session, especially in this hot weather!

*What sort of things do you bake?

Both sweet and savoury bakes and meals.

*Do children get to take their bakes home or try them during the session?

Of course, we like to recycle plastic tubs or better still bring your own!

What measures do you take to ensure the cooking environment is clean and hygienic?

We use environmentally friendly cleaning products to clean all of our work surfaces, kitchen floors and bathroom facilities. All areas that the children will be in are thoroughly cleaned at the start of the day and we allow some time to clean in between sessions. As Mindful bakes headquarters is essentially a family home please make allowances for some mess!

How old must my child be to attend your cookery school sessions?

We welcome children between the ages of 2-16 years to all of our sessions. We carefully consider each child’s age, cooking ability and any allergies or additional needs when booking sessions. For example if your child has an allergy we will ensure they work with other children who may have the same allergy or work 1:1 with us. We welcome all children with their parents regardless of your race, ethnicity, age, ability or locality. We promise we are a friendly and welcoming bunch!

Will I receive a conformation email of my payment and booking?

Yes, please provide us your email address when booking and let us know if you wish to remain on our mailing list to keep in touch with the latest events and classes.

I’m not happy with the service you have provided. How do I make a complaint?

In the first instance please get in touch with us before posting any negative feedback on social media. We will do our utmost to review our policies and procedures and to rectify the situation.
